In addition to the 5 courses I’m taking, I signed up for an independent study for archaeology, in which I must put in 45 hours in the course of the semester. For one credit hour. It’s a lab study where we will be “washing, rebagging, and cataloguing artifacts recovered from our summer excavations, as well as performing some secondary analyses for the glass and ceramic assemblages”. Sounds interesting, and I mainly decided to sign up for it just to get a feel for this kind of thing because who knows, it may be something I want to pursue in the future. Plus, I can use it towards my major. I’m just trying to figure out how to fit it all into my schedule. This is the part of this coming semester that I’m excited about most, ngl. Though, 45 hours for one friggin’ credit hour is pretty annoying.
